I have so much fun making jewelry! The best part is thinking about the design, the materials, and how
to make it work as a practical yet pretty item. Here's some more information about my designs. - Bev
New - Beaded Serving Utensils
New - Letter Openers, Fan Pulls, and Bookmarks
I have found a supplier for beadable serving utensils and desk items. Utensils include salad service sets,
canape knives and appetizer forks. Bookmarks and Letter Openers make nice, inexpensive gifts. All these
items are special order and subject to availability. The beads used have very large holes, and there is a
limited selection. Please call for pictures and quotes.
Stretch Watches and Bracelets
The stretch cord used in all my watches and stretch bracelets is heavy duty, but flexible. It resists stretching
out of shape. Generally, the watches have metal or stone beads with two-holes, so that the cord has two
parallel strands. Having two-hole beads stabilizes the bracelet to make it lay flat on your wrist, right side up.
Watch faces are Geneva, Legacy or Trendz brands and are silver- or gold-tone with stainless steel backs and
Japanese movements. Watch batteries are replaceable, and checked before they leave my studio.
Lanyards
Lanyards are made in a variety of sizes, generally with loops for clipping badges to or for holding eyeglasses.
The loops can be changed for use with keyrings, large clips for small sewing scissors, dowels for sewing
thread, or with two lanyard clips for specialized badges. Please let me know if you need a different loop on
your lanyard, otherwise the one shown will be sent. If you put the loop in the back, it can also make a pretty
necklace.
Rosary Bracelets
Rosary bracelets are made with silver- or gold-plated memory wire, that will keep its shape with gentle use.
Pull apart the rounds of wire to wrap it on your wrist. I can make any 6mm or 8mm bead into a rosary bracelet.
If you have a particular stone in mind, I can generally get it in the 6mm or 8mm round bead. Stone also
comes in many brightly dyed colors. Gemstones will be higher priced than other beads.
Glass pearls also work well in the rosary bracelets. Madonna charms are generally only available at the
stated price with the silver colored bracelets, and they are pewter. I can price gold-plated Madonna charms if
one is required, but this will result in a higher priced bracelet. Gold-colored pewter Madonnas are
occasionally available.
Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets
All my other jewelry is made using such fun materials such as stone, freshwater pearls, shell and glass. These
designs are my own, and are not copies. I generally try to use silver- or gold-plated findings and beads, but
they are not always available or cost effective.
Necklaces and non-stretch bracelets are made with a very flexible wire cord. This cord is made up of
stainless steel strands and is very strong, but is flexible to lay nicely on your neck or wrist. It will not wear out
and break as do silk cords when used with pearls or stone.
